Overview
As a Workplace Design Manager at SIG, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the physical environment of our office spaces to reflect our dynamic company culture and enhance the collective productivity of our team. You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their spatial needs and vision, ensuring that every design element aligns with our aesthetic and functional goals.
For this newly created position, we are seeking a collaborative team member with a strong design background, exceptional project management skills, and a keen eye for detail. Your ability to listen and extract the essence of our stakeholders' needs will be crucial in creating spaces that are not only beautiful but also foster collaboration and innovation.
In this role, you will:
• Develop and implement an interior design strategy in collaboration with the teams you support, ensuring that all projects align with our corporate standards and culture.
• Engage with stakeholders, on both small- and large-scale design projects, to understand their requirements and preferences, translating these into comprehensive design plans.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Facilities, Technology, and HR, to ensure cohesive project execution.
• Lead the design aspect of internal projects and events, ensuring that spaces are optimized for functionality and aesthetic appeal.
• Maintain a project database capturing space and user requirements and timelines.
• Finalize space plans with facilities and business leaders, incorporating feedback to refine designs.
• Actively participate in design team meetings as a subject matter expert, offering guidance to steer projects effectively.
• Balance design, budget, and team priorities to deliver optimized user experiences in office spaces.
• Work closely with stakeholders to select interior finishes and fixtures that meet aesthetic preferences, budget constraints, and are consistent with SIG branding.
• Provide project management support, keeping all stakeholders informed throughout the design and build lifecycle.
• Document requirements for new spaces and communicate potential challenges to leadership.
• Keep team members updated on project progress and involve them in relevant phases.
• Partner with the team on additional activities, such as event support, as needed.
What we're looking for
• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Proven track record of managing and executing commercial interior design projects, with a preference for corporate interiors
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work well within a team
• Exceptional multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills
• Proven project management experience, overseeing all phases of an interior design project
• Keen eye for detail in design and a refined aesthetic sensibility
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and needs.
• Openness to new ideas and innovative approaches to design
• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities
